We Hire, Train, and Deploy
Our model is very simple: we hire often underemployed or unemployed individuals seeking a rewarding career in IT. We cover significant upfront educational costs including multi-month training, certification, and relocation, to help individuals gain the skills and experience required for high tech roles. We then deploy them on actual client work at Fortune 500 companies and government agencies to further their skills.
Since our inception, we have hired, trained and successfully deployed hundreds of individuals in quality, well-paying technology roles.
Our model is well-proven, and common in the IT industry.
Compensation
Prospective employees undergo a brief application process, during which they do not provide any productive work to the company. Upon their hire by Smoothstack, employees are compensated throughout their training and client work. We pride ourselves on being transparent about the training model throughout this entire process.
Our employees are expected to accurately record every hour they work, and we pay overtime appropriately.
Commitment
Following an employee’s hiring and training, we place them in roles with our corporate and government partners. Each employee commits to working for Smoothstack for 4,000 billable hours.
If employees choose to leave before that time is up, they agree – up front and in our application process – to repay the company for the substantial investment in training we make in them.
We are very transparent and forthcoming about how our model works, and our employees agree to this model when they are hired.
Compliance
Smoothstack is fully compliant with all federal and state employment laws.
We have a zero-tolerance policy for retaliation and have never retaliated against an employee.
