The tech sector has long been a source of both innovation and opportunity. However, for many people from underrepresented areas—particularly those from low-income backgrounds, racial minorities, and veterans—the path to a career in technology remains out of reach. Smoothstack, a workforce development company, is actively tearing down theswq e barriers through its Hire-Train-Deploy (HTD) model, which provides accessible, paid, and career-aligned training that leads directly to employment.

Participants in the HTD program receive immersive training that accelerates their proficiency to the equivalent of 2–3 years of industry experience in as little as 8 weeks. This rapid talent development is particularly beneficial for individuals looking to transition into tech careers, bypassing the lengthy timelines normally associated with traditional education.

Supporting Veterans and Active Military Personnel

Smoothstack fully recognizes, as assets, the valuable skills and experiences that veterans and active military personnel bring to today’s workforce. Through its IT Warriors program, an approved industry partner for the Department of Defense (DoD) SkillBridge initiative, Smoothstack offers training and employment opportunities to service members that are looking to move into civilian careers. This program helps narrow the gap between military service and civilian employment, giving veterans with the tools they will need to succeed in the tech industry.

Thanks to validation from the American Council on Education (ACE), participants in the IT Warriors program can receive up to 49 college credits upon completion. This recognition enhances the educational credentials of veterans. It also helps in their pursuit of further academic achievements if they choose to do so.

This approach not only equips participants with practical experience but also ensures they are financially supported throughout their training, making it an accessible option for many.
