Celebrating National Apprenticeship Week: Smoothstack’s Proclamation

Proclamation On National Apprenticeship Week

National Apprenticeship Week (NAW) celebrates a decade of showcasing Registered Apprenticeships as a proven, industry-driven model for developing skilled talent and creating meaningful career pathways. These programs offer individuals of all backgrounds a direct path to high-paying, impactful jobs while helping industries meet critical workforce demands.

Apprenticeships are uniquely effective in preparing the workforce to tackle today’s most pressing challenges, including rebuilding infrastructure, strengthening supply chains, achieving energy independence, modernizing cybersecurity, and supporting the care economy. By combining hands-on experience with industry-specific training, apprenticeships equip individuals with the tools to excel and ensure industries can innovate and grow sustainably.

At Smoothstack, we also recognize the transformative role apprenticeships play in expanding opportunities for historically underserved communities. For women, youth, people of color, rural and tribal communities, justice-involved individuals, and those with disabilities, apprenticeships provide a critical pathway to meaningful and sustainable careers. These programs foster equity while strengthening the workforce as a whole.

Educators, school counselors, and training providers are vital partners in this mission. By raising awareness, facilitating training, and advocating for apprenticeships, they empower students and job seekers to access these life-changing opportunities.

On behalf of Smoothstack, I encourage educators, industry leaders, and community partners to join us in celebrating and championing Registered Apprenticeships. Together, we can expand their reach, promote their value, and create transformative opportunities during National Apprenticeship Week, November 17–23, 2024.
